Terms of service
Version 1.2 · 24 September 2026
These terms govern your use of CarbonCut. They are written to be read, not skimmed past. Using CarbonCut, or clicking sign up, means you agree to them on behalf of yourself and, where you act for one, your business.
1. What CarbonCut is, and who is behind it
CarbonCut is operated by JobChange Australia (ABN 30 724 947 983). It is software that helps Australian businesses measure and report greenhouse gas emissions from activity data they enter: electricity, fleet fuel, natural gas, business travel, employee commuting, purchased goods and services (as a spend-based estimate) and waste today, with more categories as they ship. It produces a baseline report and related outputs using published government emission factors, with the methodology and every source shown on the report itself.
2. Accounts and workspaces
You must give accurate information when you sign up and keep your login credentials secure. A workspace owner or admin can invite team members; inviting someone gives them access to the workspace's data, and managing that access is the workspace's responsibility. You are responsible for activity in your account unless it results from our fault.
3. Your data is yours
You own the activity data you enter and the reports generated from it. We process that data only to provide the service. You can export your data at any time using the built-in CSV downloads and the printable report. If your account closes, you have 30 days to export before we delete it from production systems.
4. Pilots
We may, at our discretion, agree a free pilot period with a customer by individual arrangement. It is not a standing offer. Either side can end a pilot at any time. Clause 3 applies in full during and after a pilot: the data and reports remain yours.
5. Fees
Prices are published on the pricing page in Australian dollars. Until online billing is available in the product, fees are invoiced as agreed with you in writing. Prices for existing customers do not change without notice, and we honour the pricing you signed up at as published at the time.
6. Acceptable use
Use CarbonCut lawfully and as intended. Do not attempt to access other workspaces' data, probe or overload the service, reverse engineer the software, or resell access without a written agreement with us.
7. What the numbers are, and are not
Calculations use published emission factors from the Australian Government's National Greenhouse Accounts, with the factor source and vintage recorded on the report. Outputs depend on the activity data you enter, which we do not independently verify. CarbonCut reports support internal, customer and tender reporting. They are not a compliance submission under the NGER scheme, not third-party assurance, and not legal, financial or professional advice. Claims you make using the outputs are your responsibility.
8. Availability
We work to keep CarbonCut available and fast, and we tell the truth about incidents. At this stage of the product we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee. We may do maintenance, and we will schedule it thoughtfully.
9. Intellectual property
We own the CarbonCut software, brand and site content. You get a right to use the service while these terms apply. Nothing here transfers ownership of your data to us, or of our software to you.
10. Liability
Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded, and nothing in these terms attempts to exclude them. To the extent the law allows: our total liability under these terms is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, and neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss.
11. Ending things
You can stop using CarbonCut and close your account at any time. We can suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, with notice and a chance to fix the problem where that is reasonable. Clause 3's export window applies either way.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms substantively we will tell you by email or in the product before the change applies, and update the version and date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Questions, notices and complaints: use the contact page.
